What room size does it actually work for?
The manufacturer rates it up to 550 sq ft. In our tests, it performed best in rooms under 250 sq ft with doors closed. For larger open-plan spaces, two units running together is the recommendation — and it still costs far less than a window A/C install.
How loud is it really?
We measured 39 dB from six feet away on the medium setting — quieter than a ceiling fan on low and comfortably below the threshold for sleep disruption. Our tester with light-sleeping tendencies reported no issues.
Will my landlord have a problem with this?
There's nothing to approve. No window bracket, no exterior mounting, no drilling. It sits on a surface and plugs into a standard outlet. Legally, it's in the same category as a lamp.
How much does it cost to run?
We measured roughly 0.05 kWh per hour on medium — about half a cent per hour at average US electricity rates. A full 8-hour night costs under 4 cents. For comparison, a central A/C unit running the same time costs roughly 40–60 cents.
What happens if it doesn't work for me?
Gardenhomie offers a 30-day full refund, no questions. Based on the 275,500+ units sold and the return rate reported on the product page, the vast majority of buyers keep it. But the guarantee removes all the financial risk from trying it.
